What is a certified B Corporation?

A B certified business will be purpose driven and centre around a vision for creating a better world for people and planet.
72% of people believe that business should have a legal responsibilty to the planet and people, alongside maximising profits. It is time for change. It is time for the people to take the power back, choose to invest in businesses that care and trust that when they are supporting a B certified corporation they are creating a positive difference with their money for other people and for their planet.

The Journey to B Corp…

From that moment, I knew I had no choice. I had to follow my heart, live aligned to my values and create a business that represented the societal change that I wanted for my children, grandchildren, people and planet. In August 2020, I embraced my photography business full time and made the commitment to fully embrace my passion for sustainability and commit to becoming a B certified corporation. Through connecting with nature every single day, we can inspire a societal change to put nature at the core of our life and business. When we value nature, we care, nurture and restore our planet which ultimately has a positive benefit on the health and wellbeing of people and planet. I have witnessed the power of being immersed in nature for my personal wellbeing and the wellbeing of our children. It it vital that we all reconnect to our natural selves and the natural world for our mental health. Discover more of my journey as a B Corp photographer.

Seeking real beauty – natural photography for a healthier, happier world

With a continuing increase of children and adults spending more and more time on social media, a world of false imagery has exploded with people unable to identify what is real beauty and what is highly edited and false imagery.

It is common for people to over edit their photos, alter the background, spend a long time perfecting (in their eyes) an image before then posting this image online.

However, is this image then perceived by the audience as beautiful?

Surely if the image doesn’t truly reflect who you are then there is no “real” connection with the viewer….? What do you think?

Reframing busyness. Look for abundance in the everyday

I’ve found that a return to busyness has arrived. At first it was with the children’s after school clubs and now with the additional appointments we are all trying to book in along with meeting friends and families for outdoor fun and juggling our work commitments too. Busyness is a funny thing and I generally try to avoid it. However I have been thinking of how I can reframe the term “busyness”?

For our mental wellbeing, how can we re-frame the term “busy”?

Sustainable living choices for a healthier and happier planet

Choosing to live more sustainably is a key step to tackling climate change.

Our earth has been taken for granted for too many years. We must respect nature, learn to appreciate the strengths of nature and learn to live in harmony with nature.

You can make a difference. It is all about making small changes to your everyday living.

Here I share some easy easy sustainable swaps to embrace in your home and lifestyle.

The power of a tree – the power of nature

This week I came across a blossom tree. A tree sparkling in the blue sky and shimmering with beautiful white blossom.

The sheer beauty of the blossom tree pulled me in. The little details were magical.

This soulful moment is what memories are made of.
