Building a community and giving back…

I’ve recently been asked on a couple of occasions to offer “lockdown doorstop photography”.

For me, this is not right for my business. It isn’t because I don’t want to give back to charity. I love to help others and I love to give back to society and community but the doorstep photography is not something I can offer.

My business is built around a community.

A community of kindness, love, authenticity, friendship, creativity and nature. I give back through the online community facebook group, Connect and Create where we continue to inspire each other through our nature photography.

All the proceeds from the sales of my nature cards and nature prints goes towards resources for these groups and 10% from sales of family nature sessions and natural personal branding sessions goes towards the Connect and Create walks and events too.

However at this time, I know that you want your lockdown memories captured so here is my offer to you…

Embracing outdoor play…

Embracing outdoor play during lockdown.

The weeks seem to whizz on by and the kids have been enjoying playing in the garden, collecting snails and making Harry Potter wands from sticks.

We have been getting outside as much as possible and the benefits to our health and wellbeing is amazingly positive.

Here’s a little round up of news for you and a few of my favourite nature photos from the past week.

Why should you book a family photography session today?

Family time is precious. We all work to provide for our families. We want the best for our families and we all create fun family moments to connect and enjoy time together….but are you savouring those moments?

When you book a family photography session, you are saying yes to beautiful family photos captured for you, to include you and delivered to you, for you to cherish for a lifetime.

But…sometimes we are hesitant to invest in family photography.

Here are my top reasons why you should prioritise family photography.

Where will your family visit first after lockdown? Five of our family favourites near Bristol

I have been dreaming this week. Dreaming of the day that we are able to get out and visit places once again. So I thought, I’d ask the boys where their favourite family places are. This is what we came up with.

These are a few of our favourite family trips where we love to visit, meet friends, explore and have fun and of course my camera usually comes too. Where are your family favourites? I’d love to hear.

Embracing slow living and nature at this time for your health and wellbeing – March 2020

At this time I feel that it is important for us to come together as a community and I am inviting you to do this through nature and by embracing this opportunity to slow down for your own health and wellbeing.

Being outside is proven to be beneficial to our health and I would love to encourage you to take some time out each day to connect with nature for you and your family.

Spring has sprung – join me to put nature at the heart of your family

Spring has arrived and it is time for us all to get outside and embrace the natural world.

Nature is key to our wellbeing and if we all learn to stop, look, take a deep breathe and appreciate the natural world around us, we will all benefit.

I continue to work with families and bring a little bit of creativity and nature connection into each family photography experience.

Family wellbeing is really important to me. I believe that it is really beneficial for all families to get outside, run wild and have fun.

Through nature based photography, we learn to take time time out, embrace our creativity and individuality and slow down whilst inspiring others and our children to look after and care for the world that we live in.

Join the movement and live in alignment with nature for your health and wellbeing.

Connect and Create – for your own health and wellbeing

I believe that being outside and being amongst nature is good for the soul.

The research continues to build and the evidence is clear. However for me, this all came about through my own personal experience.

Two years ago, our family made the move to the countryside. One of the best decisions to date for our family. We have four boys and the space of the country is what we needed. However I didn’t anticipate the move being as stressful as it turned out to be.

Connect and Create with Claire Victoria and Clementine Moon

Connect and Create is designed to be a safe and welcoming community for women to come together to take time out, slow down and re-connect with themselves, nature and others amongst nature.

Each month we come together at Kingsweston House in Bristol to walk amongst nature, learn how to use photography as a tool to calm the mind, get creative and connect with others whilst we walk and explore.

Throughout the year I collaborate with nature based businesses to bring to you new creative skills and activities to express our individuality and learn how you can live more sustainably in every day life.

Connect and Create sessions are designed to be relaxing, calm and fun. You can read more about the upcoming collaboration with Clementine Moon here.

Re-wild your Christmas – eco-friendly ideas for Christmas 2021

Christmas is a time for family, friends and loved ones to come together.

It is a time to slow down, a time to play games, have fun and relax together. There are many temptations that come our way and when it comes to buying gifts for others and planning the “perfect” Christmas day there is a temptation to over consume. Christmas adverts from well known brands paint a picture of happy families coming together, laughing, with rooms full of gifts, glorious spreads of food and many other Christmas delights. They want us to over consume and buy their goods.

However as COP26 comes to a close and we are encouraged to be more mindful of our purchases and lifestyle, how can we make our Christmas plans in 2021 more sustainable?

Can we say “no’ to over consumption and embrace a more kinder Christmas for the planet?

Read on and learn of some simple, easy switches that you can embrace to create a full filled Christmas that is kinder to people, planet and your family too.
